Along the Oberleiserberg bee nature trail, the honey bee is presented as one of the most important beneficial animals for our ecosystem and its influence on human life is illustrated.

The following quote from Albert Einstein (1949) is probably the best illustration of how big an impact the honey bee has on our lives: "No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more people."

About 80 percent of all cultivated and wild plants are pollinated by honeybees; the remaining 20 percent are pollinated by bumblebees, flies, wild bee species, butterflies, and other insects. This is one of the reasons why honeybees have become an indispensable part of human life today. In 2016, the market town of Ernstbrunn therefore took a stand to support bees. Twenty-five flower strips covering a total area of 1,800 m² were created and distributed across the 13 cadastral districts.

Details and a downloadable brochure can be found on the Ernstbrunn municipal website.
